Age Calculator - Find Out How Old Someone Is

While this is no self hypnosis, I felt that this would be a fun experiement for anyone who would like to find out how old someone is!

Try this, it's fun and it will only takes less than a minute for you to reveal to me how old you really are by the end of this experiement.

  1. First of all, think about the number of times a week that you would like to have chocolate (more than once but less than 10)

  2. Next, multiply this number by 2 (I know you would actually like to have twice as much...)

  3. Then add 5

  4. Multiply it by 50 -- I'll wait while you get the calculator

  5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1759... If you haven't, add 1758.

  6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.

You should have a three digit number.

The first digit of this was your original number that you would like to have chocolate per week

The next two numbers are

YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!!!)

IF YOU THINK THIS IS COOL, SPREAD IT AROUND!

Self Hypnosis To Quit Smoking

Here's a brief look at self hypnosis to quit smoking and why it is an effective method for overcoming the addiction to cigarettes..

An increasing number of people who are addicted to nicotine are turning to self hypnosis to quit smoking. In fact, one of Hollywood top actor, Matt Damon, star of The Bourne Identity describe his hypnosis experience to Jay Leno, The Tonight Show

"I should have done it years ago…It's amazing I didn't even want cigarettes any more."

With self hypnosis, no longer will you be controlled by the need to smoke. This natural self help remedy will gently reinforce your mind from its current addicted state to completely break free from the addiction to cigarettes.

Why Does Self Hypnosis to Quit Smoking Work?

  • It helps people who have already made a determination to kick the habit. The hypnosis can reinforce this motivation and help a person to become a non-smoker.

  • Hypnosis is of great benefit in allaying the various physical and psychological symptoms that might begin to make an appearance in the person when they try to keep away from the cigarettes. These symptoms could be as severe as a cold turkey situation in some people. Generally, people find it very difficult to go through these symptoms and just so that they could avoid them, they might give up their plan to stop smoking. However, hypnosis can ease or even completely remove these symptoms. This makes it easier for people to quit smoking.

  • Pattern smoking is found in many people. Some people would light up after a meal or some would light up after they return home from work. This happens even without any conscious desire to smoke. It is just a habit that the person has formed and now finds it difficult to give up. Self hypnosis to quit smoking helps immensely in helping people give up such pattern related smoking habits. It is a method that can help in reprogramming your subconscious mind.

  • Smoking is a desire-driven habit too. Nicotine is a habit-forming substance, though it itself does not do the harm that is associated with cigarettes (that is why nicotine patches work – they satisfy the person's craving without introducing the harmful substances such as tar and carbon monoxide in the body of the smoker). Hypnosis is probably the only way in which the desires that a person has for nicotine can be removed or at least, lessened.

  • When hypnosis is used to help people quit smoking, the therapy also bring some positive changes in the person too. Like, the motivation to take up yoga class or exercise to have a healthy lifestyle. These changes can become permanent in those people and greatly enrich the qualities of their lives.

Self hypnosis is one of the most effective method for helping a person quit the smoking habit, however it must be remembered that hypnosis will not work if the person hasn't resolved himself or herself to give up the habit. A prior belief in hypnosis and the determination to quit smoking is extremely important, because only then can your brain take in the suggestion easily to help program you to stop smoking and become a non-smoker.

This self hypnosis download can help you to quit smoking and stayed stopped!

Hypnosis As Medical Treatment Against Cancer

A groundbreaking program to incorporate hypnosis in care for cancer patients was founded at La Grange Memorial Hospital almost 20 years ago, by the Rev. Dr. C. Scot Giles of Wheaton.

“It was the first medically approved hospital-based program in America that used hypnosis as an integral part of cancer care,” said Giles, a board-certified chaplain. “We have tracked all of the people who have gone through the program over a 10-year horizon, and know they are doing better (than) expected to do when compared to the national cancer outcomes database. At this point, the group is full and there is a one-year waiting list.”

“The work’s been very rewarding,” said Giles, an officer of the National Guild of Hypnotists and author of the curriculum used by the guild to train people to do medical hypnotism in the United States, Great Britain and Canada.

Giles, whose Web site at www.csgiles.org provides a wealth of information and links to scientific studies, shares recent findings about the nature of cancer.

“What’s been found is that cancer cells have receptor sites for chemicals in the body associated with stress,” he said. “They use those chemicals to fuel a process called angiogenesis (generation of blood vessels that aid growth of a tumor). The stress chemicals in your body are energizing the tumor cells and encouraging tumor proliferation. So by maintaining a state of low stress in the mind, you actually change the physiology of the body and starve the cancer cells of chemicals they need to grow. That seems to be why hypnotism is effective. While it doesn’t kill the cancer, it does inhibit its spread.”

A study from the National Institutes of Health shows psychosocial support of cancer patients makes an enormous difference, he said.

His hypnosis program focuses on symptom management of pain, nausea and lack of appetite; mood management in helping the patient remain relaxed and optimistic; and specific imagery around the cancer itself, to encourage the body’s immune system to fight back.

Giles notes that public acceptance of hypnosis has improved dramatically.

Articles now abound in medical journals showing the effectiveness of hypnosis in health care, he said, adding, “The opinions of the medical community have simply shifted with the research.”

Self Help Hypnosis - Maximise Your Potential With Self Hypnosis

Anyone and everyone can help themselves to overcome life's challenges with self hypnosis and achieve the extraordinary.

If you are wondering why would anyone want or should learn to preform self hypnosis to help themselves since there are already thousands of methods that a person can turn to, to improve themselves. Well, the answer lies within our powerful subconscious mind.

In a 1981 article "The phenomena and Characteristics of Self Hypnosis", Dr Erika Fromm discovered that our brain is more receptive to self suggestions, rather than receiving them from another person, because these self suggestions are more readily accepted by our ego. Therefore, if you have something you desire to change or accomplish such as losing weight, overcoming a fear or to quit a 20 year smoking habit, believe it or not, self hypnotherapy can help you deal with all of these problems quickly and easily. By positively aligning your thoughts with your area of enhancement, self hypnosis will help you create a definite focus for your mind to maximize your creative potential to accomplish whatever you desire from life.

7 Simple Steps To Perform Self Hypnosis

  1. First, decide what you wish to accomplish with self hypnosis. For example, you may plan to give yourself auto-suggestions that will increase your self confidence for an upcoming presentation or interview. Create one or two positive sentences and making sure to frame them in the present tense: "I am gracious, charismatic and confident of my success" might be one possibility.

  2. Next, choose a quiet, private place to perform your self hypnosis. Plan at least half an hour without interruption.

  3. Sit in a comfortable chair, close your eyes and breathe deeply. Tell yourself to relax completely. One way to assist the process of full relaxation is to tighten your muscles, hold for about four seconds, and then relax them fully. Relax each part of your body, beginning with your face, your neck, your shoulders down to your legs.

  4. Now imagine yourself walking down a flight of ten stairs leading downwards to a door, and counting silently to yourself as you imagine going down the staircase step by step. Once you reach the bottom of the staircase, open the door you see there.

  5. As you step into the room, tell yourself that you will find whatever you need in that room. Begin your self suggestions at this point. You may simply picture yourself doing, or being, or experiencing, whatever is your goal for this session.

  6. Continue to breathe deeply and evenly as you repeat these suggestions. You may even wish to say them out loud a couple of times.

  7. When you feel ready, imagine yourself going back through the door. As you climb the staircase, count backward from Ten to One. On One, you will open your eyes slowly. You control your mind during this process, and your constant self-affirmations have a powerful effect for change on your subconscious mind.

Can I Really Change Myself through Self Hypnosis?

You certainly can. You can undo bad habits, like smoking or overeating. You can give yourself permission to be happier, more self-confident, less shy and more outgoing - just by using the right message.

To achieve real change, it's necessary to change the subconscious; and the best way to develop influence over the subconscious mind is through the skills of self hypnosis.

Do you know the world's top athletes and movie stars like Tiger Woods, Lee Evans, John Travolta and Oprah use self hypnosis to help themselves overcome their failures and achieve their true potential.

If you are truly ready to live better, use professional self hypnosis downloads to help you improve yourself, increase your motivation, and make dramatically positive changes in your life.

Get A Really Good Sleep

According to research from the Future Foundation for the health campaign Sleep Well Live Well, 1 in 5 of the population sleeps for fewer than 7 hours a night and many of these tired souls reported feeling stressed and unhappy.

If you are having trouble going to sleep or is suffering from insufficient sleep, Dr Adrian Williams of the Sleep Disorders Centre at St Thomas's Hospital in London has a few simple suggestions...
Don't have any caffeine drinks after 2pm.

Exercise some time between 4pm and 7pm.

Have a milky drink and a bath before bedtime.

Try to exclude noise and light from the bedroom.

If you still experience sleep deprivation after trying these methods, sleep hypnosis might be the best possible sleep therapy for you to help you sleep like a child through deep relaxation.

Relax and sleep easily with these hypnosis downloads.

Does Hypnosis Work?

If you ever wonder does hypnosis work, you need to read about this very useful and well-informed article about the possibilities in hypnosis from The New York Times.

It usefully points out a few case studies and explained why many people believed that "hypnosis didn’t work on them" or "why they weren't hypnotized" - and yet hypnosis did work - and the patients' problems were resolved permanently!

The Times article states:

...Hypnosis is the epitome of mind-body medicine. It can enable the mind to tell the body how to react, and modify the messages that the body sends to the mind. It has been used to counter the nausea of pregnancy and chemotherapy; dental and test-taking anxiety; pain associated with surgery, root canal treatment and childbirth; fear of flying and public speaking; compulsive hair-pulling; and intractable hiccups, among many other troublesome health problems

Read the complete New York Times article here...

So what about self hypnosis? Can I change myself through self hypnosis too?

You certainly can.

In the same article, Dr. Temes said hypnosis could be helpful even if done with a cassette tape or CD...

If you’d like some help to begin with, there are many good (powerful) self hypnosis downloads available on the homepage of this site that can help you achieve dramatic positive changes in your life.

The Amazing Powers of Self Hypnosis

I want to share a success story about hypnosis for weight loss. There are so many, but this one stands out in my mind and touches my heart. I was working in the summer of 2004 with a young lady named Jen. She was 19 at the time and was scheduled to undergo gastric bypass surgery. This surgery is very drastic and involved stapling the stomach so that the person can no longer eat large meals. She also already had liposuction but regained all of her weight. Her father had died and all her mother wanted was for Jen to be happy.

As they both sat in my office in tears, Jen told me that this was her last attempt to lose weight before killing herself. After her mom left the room, we began the hypnosis session. While in a trance, Jen remembered being abused by her father. It was traumatic for her to recall this, but helpful at the same time. Jen also revealed that she had "built up a protective layer" with the excess weight. She explained while under hypnosis that the weight repelled men and kept her "safe."

After Jen was out of hypnosis, I invited her mom back into the office. The three of us discussed this unfortunate event. Her mom said that she had suspected that it happened, but never had proof until now. Jen returned the next week and we began working on re-building her self-esteem using hypnosis. This is very easy to do with hypnosis since the messages go directly to the subconscious mind. If you want to do this yourself, just make a tape with positive suggestions that you play in bed each night as you go to sleep.

In the four weeks that followed, I was able to reframe the way she felt about eating right, exercising, and taking care of herself in general. After only six sessions, I told Jen that I had done all the work we needed to do.

Last week, Jen sent me an e-mail with a picture. You see, I had programmed her to continue to eat right, exercise, and take care of herself. Well, the picture she sent looked like a model! Jen had gone from 325 lbs. to 115 lbs! The e-mail was even more inspirational. Here’s what she wrote:

Dear Steve,

It has been a year since our last session. The pounds have been consistently dropping. I eat differently and don’t even try to. I exercise three times a week and love it. Most importantly, my view of life is completely different now. I went from being overweight and suicidal to being thin, sexy, beautiful and totally confident. My mom is happier than ever and so is my husband. That’s right! I am married. He’s 6’4", an architect, and wants kids. I feel like I’m living the life of my dreams. Hypnosis is amazing. You taught me that I could do ANYTHING that I BELIEVE I can do. You are right. Feel free to share this letter with others. I want the world to know about the power of hypnosis and the power of the human mind!

With much love and respect,

Jen

In my line of work I get to see this happen often. Jen is one of the many people who decided to make a powerful change in her life. Hypnosis helped, but the change was really due to her commitment to herself. I hope that the sharing of Jen’s journey will inspire you to create whatever powerful change you desire in your life. There are no obstacles, except the ones YOU create in your mind. Remove those obstacles, and you will easily live the life of YOUR dreams.

Reassuring Reasons why Hypnosis is your Friend

Believe the hype or think for yourself

For too long hypnosis has had a bad or 'difficult' press. If a person doesn't understand something they have 3 options open to them.

1) They might be sceptical and therefore save the trouble of looking further and possibly benefiting.
2) They may conclude it is dangerous and to be avoided at all costs.
3) They may spend time discovering the truth behind the hype.

If you don't know much about a topic it's easy to be suspicious. Some people assume hypnosis is akin to a carnival side show, others consider it mystic mumbo jumbo or 'mind control.' For those who look beyond the hype the truth is far more illuminating.

The most powerful tool you possess

There are potentially huge benefits for those who use hypnosis as part of everyday life. When you understand hypnosis you start to see its potential to improve human performance in the physical, emotional and intellectual realms. For me, rumour, gossip and suspicion weren't good enough.

I determined to learn all I could about hypnosis - I learned every fact and practised every technique under the sun. I took several training courses - some good, some terrible. I invested thousands of hours of devoted study to hypnosis and discovered just what is possible. I hypnotised friends, neighbours and work colleagues. Hypnosis greatly changed things for me on a personal level.

How hypnosis helped me

I used to be shy. Thanks to hypnosis I can now talk to thousands at a time and can approach anybody calmly and confidently.

I used to have poor concentration and procrastinate; thanks to hypnosis I can instantly motivate myself.

I used to find physical work outs and exercise exhausting but because of hypnosis I am now in the best shape of my life.

Incidentally I also stopped myself blushing with hypnosis. Now if ever I have a difficult call or conversation coming up, something I may naturally feel reluctant to do (you know the kind of thing) I spontaneously self hypnotise and rehearse the upcoming situation feeling good, with myself remaining calm. In this way I habitually set my own emotional 'blue prints' for up coming situations. Having said that it's naturally that some people have concerns or half digested 'hand me down' ideas regarding hypnosis. A common one is the one about 'mind control.' However what does this really mean?

Why you are more in control of yourself in hypnosis

If someone expresses concerns about being 'controlled' in hypnosis what they mean is they don't want to be like a robot, an automaton that is forced to obey the every whim of the hypnotist. We can't help but influence others but we don't control them. To understand why you need to understand hypnosis better.

So what is hypnosis like?

Hypnosis isn't like a coma. It's not unconsciousness - more a subtle shifting of consciousness. In hypnosis, you can still think logically but you also have access to the 'software' of your mind so that you can update instinctive emotional and physical responses. In fact the hypnotised subject (not the hypnotist) calls the shots. When I hypnotise someone I need to go at their speed and respond to their needs and expectations. Hypnosis will give you more control in your own life because of what it enables you to do.

How can I be so sure?

Because over the decades I've seen all kinds of people, all ages and from all backgrounds turn their lives around thanks to hypnosis. When you use hypnosis for yourself it improves confidence in all kinds of ways. When you use it to change other's lives it just blows you away. This is what I mean.

When I first hypnotised someone to feel no sensation in a painful arthritic arm it was an incredible feeling. When I first cured life long phobias quickly and comfortably I was astounded. When I stopped hardened alcoholics from drinking and even got a heroin addict off the stuff and back into mainstream life again I started to feel angry that people could just associate hypnosis with entertainment.

With the aid of hypnosis I (and many people I have trained and worked with) have helped severely depressed people feel strong and positive again. The rewards and satisfactions are hard to describe. I'm going to take a stand against ignorance and short sightedness around hypnosis and here's why.

Why you need to reclaim hypnosis for yourself

Hypnosis is your birthright. It's nature's optimum learning tool. In fact to learn and perform anything well you need to experience a natural focussing of attention, a natural kind of hypnosis. To be successful hypnosis needs to be your companion and friend.

Successful people use it naturally all the time because hypnosis is natural. It's the way we learn new responses. Unlike medications its side effects are purely positive - one expectant mother I worked with to feel relaxed during child birth later reported that she was also more relaxed when flying!

Hypnosis is easy to learn and every body can benefit. Hypnosis is a safe environment to 'try out' new behaviours and emotional patterns before you experience them for real. So the young man can ask a woman out for a date many times in calm relaxed hypnosis so that by the time he does it for real it feels real and natural and relaxed. Sports people who use hypnosis learn new quicker and more accurately. So hypnosis gives you more control of yourself and your life, it's natural and gives you instant benefits and it's a way of 'trying on' and establishing new patterns of emotional response and behaviour, Hypnosis enables you to develop yourself as a human being.
